Generation Magazine Open Positions

Generation Magazine is looking for talented, organized, and dedicated individuals to fill the following positions:

Paid Positions:

Web Editor: The web editor is responsible for updating and maintaining the Generation website, which includes uploading articles and web content, coordinating the layout of the site with the creative director, and keeping information such as staff bios and contact information up to date.  Although the web editor is not required to write any articles, they are welcome to contribute if they are so inspired.

Photo Editor: The photo editor is responsible for collaborating with our writers and creative staff to create photographic content for each of our bi-weekly publications color page layouts and issue cover pages.  They may also be assigned to shoot additional photographs at campus events or in conjunction with other articles.  Although the photo editor is not required to write any articles, they are welcome to contribute if they are so inspired.

Staff Experience:

Staff Writer: Staff writers are invited to atted Generation’s bi-weekly staff writer meetings at 11:00 a.m. on Fridays in our office, 315 Student Union.  Staff writers will start out by attending meetings and submitting content to be posted on the Generation website.  Once a writer’s experience or growth as a writer has been determined, they will be invited to attend the bi-weekly collaborative production meetings along with the rest of the paid staff and their articles will move to print.  Although this position is unpaid, as a staff writer, students will gain excellent journalism experience, by working with our team and training in writing for web and print.  These experiences will help students seeking future paid positions with Generation or other publications.  Check our website soon for a meeting schedule!
