Graduate Student Assistant Position, Experiential Learning

Fall 2016-Spring 2017

The Experiential Learning Center in the College of Arts and Sciences is looking for a graduate student assistant to promote student involvement in internships, study abroad, research, and service-learning.  The student would assist with efforts to engage students, faculty, and staff in the College and connect with central campus resources.

Desired Skills/Qualifications:

  • Full-time Master’s or PhD student with relevant student programming experience
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Applicant has participated in experiential learning (research, internships, study abroad, or service-learning)


  • Collect and promote College and campus-wide events and information related to experiential learning
  • Greet visitors to the Center and direct them to appropriate information
  • Provide information to students about campus resources
  • Post updates about events and opportunities on social media
  • Collect and organize scholarship applications
  • Assist with website development and maintenance
  • Create flyers and marketing materials for experiential learning events and opportunities
  • Support presentations to various student groups
  • Collect and organize student stories/testimonials
  • Other duties as assigned

Application Process:  Students must submit a cover letter and resume to Caitlin Hoekstra, Assistant Director of Experiential Learning,, by Monday, September 26.  The position is approximately 20 hours per week at an hourly rate of $12.
