Internship Opportunity with NYS Assemblyman Sean Ryan’s Office

The Office of Assemblyman Sean Ryan is looking for staff interns for the fall 2017 semester. Students with an interest in community engagement, urban planning, environmental conservation, communication, or government should apply. Hours are flexible and the projects are varied.

General project topics may include Outer Harbor development, water quality in local watersheds, green technology, 21st-century city planning, and transportation. Applicants should come with an idea of the general topic s/he may want to explore further as it relates to the 149th Assembly District.

In addition, we are looking for students studying or who have experience with creating video content for use in various media channels. Students should have access to video recording and editing equipment, and be able to film and edit video materials.

Some portion of the internship will include issued-based community outreach, administrative work, and constituent services; good communication skills are a must. The ideal candidate will have an academic background in environmental sciences, communication, engineering, architecture, urban planning, or political science. Candidates will be expected to work with staff and constituents to provide support services and information to the public.
