The Intercultural and Diversity Center will be hosting a presentation tomorrow, Wednesday, February 1st from 7-8pm in 240 Student Union to discuss our government system, the history and use of executive orders and effective ways to be an advocate.

Let by faculty members Nicole Hallett, JD and Margaret Sallee, Ph.D., the goal of this 1 hour session is to educate students trying to make sense of current political events in the USA.

Specifically, we will examine:

  • What is an executive order versus executive action?
  • What does it mean when something is unconstitutional and how does that impact its legality?
  • With the media focusing on the most recent executive orders, what is being overlooked that may/will impact our country in the future?
  • How do everyday citizens advocate?  What methods are most effective?
