LGBTQ Community Service Opportunity April 25

Posted by Tim on April 25, 2016 in Buffalo Bits, Event, Stress Relief, Volunteering, Volunteers Needed

If anyone needs community service hours, we have an impromptu community service project taking place tomorrow, Tuesday, April 25th from 4:00pm – 9:00pm at the Pride Center of Western New York, a non-profit organization here in Buffalo that provides programs, opportunities, and advocacy for LGBTQ populations.

Although we will be leaving UB at 4:00pm, the project will take place between 5:30pm – 8:00pm—this is an opportunity to help the Pride Center prepare for its upcoming summer Pride events and programs, which includes the annual Pride Parade. We will be creating packets of information that will be distributed throughout the Pride celebrations. There will be pizza, music, and games to make the service event lots of fun!!

We will be leaving UB North Campus at 4:00pm, will take the UB Shuttle to South Campus, and will take the Metro Rail from South Campus to downtown Buffalo, where the Pride Center is located (the Pride Center is four blocks walking distance from where we get off of the train downtown).

If you plan to attend, please make sure to bring $4 for train fare ($2 each way).

Please meet me here at my office (255 Capen Hall) at 4:00pm so that we can begin our trip downtown to the Pride Center.

TO RSVP FOR TOMORROW’S COMMUNITY SERVICE EVENT, PLEASE REPLY TO Danielle Johnson: dmj23@buffalo.edu. BY 12:00PM TOMORROW AFTERNOON.
