The Real Experience and Leadership Mentoring (REALM) Program

Posted by Tim on March 15, 2017 in Academics, Career Opportunities

Student Engagement and Career Services are currently in the process of recruiting and selecting students to participate in the NYC REALM (Real Experience and Leadership Mentoring) Program which will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2017. REALM is a full-day career shadowing experience for UB students who are interested in learning about leadership in the context of a professional setting.

Successful applicants will be paired with a professional in the New York City metropolitan region and will shadow that professional for the day and will observe what leadership qualities and skills have made that person successful.

This is an opportunity for students to network and develop a mentoring relationship with a professional in their desired field or area of interest and to learn more about the day-to-day operations of a particular industry.

Students who are interested in taking advantage of this opportunity must apply by completing the following steps:

  1. Students must attend a mandatory informational session about the NYC REALM program. This is a logistics orientation, along with a Q&A session. All informational sessions are held in 235 Student Union:

Tuesday, March 14th at 12:00 PM

Thursday, March 16th at 6:30 PM

Monday, March 27th at 7:00 PM

Thursday, March 30th at 6:30 PM

  1. After attending an information session, students can submit an application via UBLinked by clicking here à https://buffalo.collegiatelink.net/form/start/123369. Please note: if a student applies without attending an info session, their application will not be considered.
  2. Once the application is reviewed, students will be contacted by a Student Engagement staff member to set up a 20-minute interview.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis but are due by Saturday, April 1st.

If there are any questions, please email leadub@buffalo.edu or visit Student Engagement, 235 Student Union, North Campus.
