These programs are all EXCHANGE – this means you will be charged your regular UB tuition and will not be charged additional tuition costs by the host university. Please see estimated budget sheets for more information surrounding costs associated with exchange programs.
The Penn Honors Diversity (PHD) Symposium will be held from October 8-10, 2020 at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. The Symposium aims to particularly attract underrepresented students, especially sophomores and juniors, at colleges and universities in the Mid-Atlantic states who are interested in learning more about graduate school. Students will have the opportunity to (a) network with faculty and current graduate students, (b) learn about cutting-edge research and PhD training opportunities at Penn, (c) present their work to faculty and students in a poster session, and (d) attend workshops and seminars about the admissions process, funding opportunities, life as a graduate student, etc.
Students coming from the Mid-Atlantic States who are accepted to attend will have travel, lodging and meals covered. The deadline to apply for the PHD Symposium is April 1, 2020. Students can learn more and apply now at https://home.www.upenn.edu/pages/penn-honors-diversity.
Office of Academic Integrity Student Ambassadors (OAISAs) are undergraduate and graduate students who work with the Office of Academic Integrity and exemplify the values of honesty, trust, fairness, respect, responsibility and courage in the learning and research processes. OAISAs play an integral role in promoting academic integrity on campus and professional integrity in the work field. The OAISA is a paid position. The Office will only consider completed applications. Completed applications have both a resume and a document with application question responses. Deadline for applications is March 13, 2020 at 5 PM.
OAISAs are students who:
Have UB Pride Understand the importance of having integrity, academically and professionally Want the opportunity to be involved on campus Display initiative Are professional and can provide mentorship to peer-students Can maintain strict confidentiality Can commit up to 5 hours/week to the position
Eligibility:
Must be able to commit for a full academic year (Fall 2020 and Spring 2021) Must be available for an orientation during Spring 2020 semester and training the week before Fall 2020 semester begins (Dates: TBD) 2.5 GPA minimum

Student Ambassador Roles and Responsibilities:
Participate in OAISA orientation and training Attend regularly-scheduled meetings Promote academic integrity at student move-in, welcome week, and exam time Develop and execute promotional campaigns to improve the awareness of academic and professional integrity on campus Engage with students through the OAI’s social media accounts Communicate to students about the value of integrity at UB and beyond (e.g., speak to classes, chalk the campus at exam time, coordinate study breaks with integrity messaging, etc.) Plan events around student needs related to academic integrity (e.g., time management workshops, stress reduction, limits of collaboration presentations, etc.) Provide 1-on-1 and group assistance to students on topics such as proper citation techniques (APA, MLA, Chicago), paraphrasing, referencing, and more Serve on adjudication committees to consider student appeals Present to groups and/or meet with students about the policy and corresponding processes Model integrity for peers both on and off campus

Need a job this summer that will enhance your resume? The Hillel Summer Internship Program is an 8 week paid internship and cohort experience open to incoming Jewish sophomores, juniors and seniors who are either enrolled in a Buffalo area college or university or who are from Buffalo and attend school out of town. Students will be placed in internships across Buffalo that match their professional goals and that will provide them with relevant, hands-on experience and mentorship. On Fridays students will participate group processing and immersive learning experiences, such as a networking power lunch with local Jewish professionals, volunteering with refugees, and a tour of a start-up incubator in Buffalo.
