The Summer Undergraduate Internship Program (SUIP) is designed to provide an intense research experience to students interested in graduate study in the biomedical sciences. Interns complete ten weeks of full-time laboratory research, attend state-of-the-art research seminars and deliver scientific presentations to their peers and mentors. In addition, interns receive training in responsible conduct of research, laboratory safety, and presentation skills. Interns are also invited to career counseling sessions in which faculty and administrators discuss graduate school and career opportunities for biomedical scientists.

Weekly Meditation Group time change to
3:30-4:30pm (from 12-1pm) on Fridays in SU 228. Students told us that
more of them could make it if we offered it later in the day on Fridays, so we
hope more students can join us at the new time. This drop-in group
teaches the fundamentals of mindfulness and meditation, and provides students
with a variety of meditation techniques. Meditation props provided.
No experience necessary.

The
Child Health and Behavior Lab (HABLAB) at the University of Buffalo is looking
for undergraduate students to assist with research studies during Summer and

Stephanie Anzman-Frasca, who conducts laboratory- and community-based studies
in the area of children’s eating behavior and obesity prevention. More

In
Summer 2020, we have exciting opportunities to assist with data collection with
children and families in local restaurants as part of our Restaurant Study. In
addition, general responsibilities of student research assistants include:
assisting with materials preparation, data entry and/or coding, and helping
staff in the implementation of the study design. All incoming research
assistants must be able to commit to at least 135 hours of research over the
semester (equates to about 10-11 hours per week), with preference given to
students who can commit to at least two semesters. For upcoming semesters,
evening and weekend availability are important. For students who spend multiple
semesters on the team, independent research projects, conference presentations,
and/or thesis projects are possible.
Interested
students can apply by submitting an application and a resume
to ubhablab@gmail.com, using
“Student research assistant application 2020” as the subject of the email.
Applications may be downloaded at http://ubhablab.weebly.com/students. We are currently filling positions on a rolling
basis.
