Last Summer, UB’s Blackstone LaunchPad campus-based entrepreneurship network hosted a virtual Summer Accelerator program which gave students the opportunity to build their very own venture or startup idea. This event garnered a lot of engagement, and many teams went on to achieve new heights after participating. This year we’ll continue giving students invaluable access to LaunchPad national resources, mentorship, industry leaders, workshops and more.
During this eight-week program, teams will be immersed in weekly programming and will also have the opportunity to compete for a total of $5,000 in prizes at the end of the program. Any undergraduate, graduate or recent graduate is invited to apply as either a formed venture or as a free-agent, where they can work with a team.

Tutoring & Academic Support Services (TASS) is looking for highly motivated students who are willing to help others. If you have good communication skills and like to share your knowledge, please apply to be a tutor. This is a paid position ($14 per hour).
• Applicants must be enrolled at UB as an undergraduate or graduate student, with at least one semester completed. • Need to be available at least 6 hours per week but could work up to 15 hours per week depending on demand. • Must have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher • Need to have an A- or above in the course that they wish to tutor in.

SUNY Startup Summer School (S4) offers virtual accelerated entrepreneurial education and training for participants to help them secure the initial funding needed to get their technology to market. Depending on their experience, S4 participants will receive the following support: • Access to instructional webinars that provide the foundation of knowledge and learning aspiring entrepreneurs and new ventures need to be successful. • Proposal development support from experts with successful track records in helping research teams and startups secure grants and other non-dilutive funding. • Customized I-Corps training, mentoring, and networking opportunities that are provided in a just-in-time format based on each participant’s needs and traction. The EOP department is in the process of hiring Academic Tutor’s for the upcoming summer. Applicants who are selected to tutor during the summer will participate as a part of the EOP Summer Bridge Program Staff .
The Summer Tutor position is responsible for providing tutoring support in the areas of Math or Sociology. EOP Summer Bridge Tutors provide academic support and create an open atmosphere of learning for all EOP students. Tutors will serve as a resource and role model to EOP students while providing academic assistance over the course this 5 week in-person program. Tutors will be required to be on campus during the entire duration of the program. The Summer Bridge Program will take place on July 5-August 12 2023.

Job Responsibilities
Serve as In-class Teaching Assistant
Provide individual or small group tutoring to students
Assist with assessing the academic needs of students and develop educational plans for improvement
Maintain documentation on student progress and success

Minimum Requirements
Sufficient knowledge and background in calculus, intermediate algebra, and trigonometry
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Effective time management and organizational skills
Ability to cooperate with students, colleagues, and staff
Able to work in-person on campus during the program duration
Qualifications
Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
At least sophomore standing or higher
Have earned an A- or better in the following course(s): MTH141, ULC147, ULC148, SOC211

The Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy is a nonprofit organization that stewards Buffalo’s historic Olmsted park system to welcome and benefit all. BOPC is looking for an enthusiastic college intern for the Summer 2023 semester! This internship is a great match for students pursuing degrees in communications, marketing, graphic design, and other fields. Students will gain valuable skills in communications and marketing planning, social media marketing, brand coordination, project planning and project management, writing, and interpersonal communication. Interns will be part of the Development and Communications team, which is a highly collaborative group of professionals, and will interact with every level of the organization, including staff, volunteers, and community partners. Intern projects and responsibilities are typically divided between office work and field work; some tasks can be done remotely. Intern projects for the Summer 2023 semester may include:
• Capturing and creating content for digital marketing including social media channels and email communication • Planning digital communications calendars • Supporting preparation and planning for the 2023 FLO Gala • Assisting with media opportunities, community events, and sponsorship fulfillment, including taking photos • Research projects, including analyzing communications data • Website audit • Other related duties to assist the BOPC staff
Skills/Qualifications:
• Current college student (must be 18 years of age or older) • Strong oral and written communication skills • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs • Experience with graphic design software a plus • Attention to detail
Schedule:
• 10-12 hours per week, with flexible scheduling • Must have reliable transportation
Summer 2023 Internship:
• June 5 – August 18 (approximate) • Application Deadline: May 22, 2023 • Potential interns will be asked to come to Buffalo Olmsted Park Conservancy’s office for an interview after submitting their application.
