FBI Collegiate Hiring Initiatve

Posted by Tim on September 15, 2021 in Uncategorized

The FBI Collegiate Hiring Initiative (CHI) annual application process is underway! In the past, the CHI and FBI Honors Internship Program (HIP) application cycle ran concurrently. This year, the HIP posting will run later and open mid – September. Interested applicants must pay attention to the highlighted deadlines.

As we continue to diversify our workforce, the posting is open to all degree programs. Still, it will focus on applicants with majors in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM), Accounting, and Law

Collegiate Hiring Initiative (CHI) – (application cycle – open now until September 30, 2021)

The full-time, entry-level hiring program supports the FBI’s mission and offers participants a chance to explore and transition into various FBI career opportunities. The Collegiate Hiring Initiative recruits graduating seniors, graduates, and post-graduates pursuing Ph.D. degrees.  Students must graduate by June 2022.

For Veterans, eligibility is within six years of the program date (June 2016 – June 2022).

To apply for the Collegiate Hiring Initiative, applicants must:

·         Be a U.S. citizen.

·         Attend/have attended a college or university as an undergraduate, graduate, or post-doctoral student.

·         Recent graduates must have graduated within 24 months of the program date (within 72 months for veterans).

·         Upcoming graduates must graduate by June of the program start year (for example, for the 2022 Collegiate Hiring Initiative, students must graduate by June 2022).

·         Have and maintain a 3.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) or better at the time of application and through graduation.

·         Pass all of the FBI employment background investigation requirements and be able to receive a Top Secret Clearance.

Honors Internship Program (HIP) – (application cycle – open date Monday, September 13, 2021, until October 17, 2021)

The Honors Internship Program (HIP) is a 10-week, paid internship for college undergraduate and graduate students to learn and explore FBI careers while working directly with FBI personnel across the United States. The internship will run during summer 2022, but the student must attend school full time in the Fall following the Summer internship to qualify.

To apply for the Honors Internship Program, applicants must:

·         Be a U.S. citizen.

·         Attend a college or university full time as an undergraduate, graduate, or post-doctoral student. Students are not eligible to graduate before the program start date; exceptions are permitted to continue their education in the following semester.

·         Have and maintain a 3.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) or better at the time of application, throughout the application process, and for the duration of the internship program.

·         A student attending a school that does not provide a GPA will need to meet alternate criteria. Instead of a 3.0 GPA or higher, the applicant must have maintained at least a 3.0 high school GPA and have scored 1500 out of 2400 on the SAT (1000 out of 1600 on new SATs) or scored a 21 or higher on the ACT.

·         Pass all of the FBI employment background investigation requirements and be able to receive a Top Secret Clearance
