Theta Tau: Co-Ed Engineering Fraternity | Learn more about us!

Dates: First week of classes

Times: various

Locations: various

Description:

Would you like to make friends with other motivated students in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences? Would you like to grow professionally? If you answered yes to either of these questions, then consider learning more about Theta Tau.

Theta Tau is a coeducational, professional engineering fraternity at UB. We emphasize:

Professionalism

  • We offer personal assistance with resumes, cover letters, and job interviews
  • We tour various companies throughout New York State (past tours include Lockheed Martin, Southco Manufacturing, engineering divisions of Roswell Park Cancer Institute). Many members have secured internships and full-time jobs because of these tours.
  • We have a vast alumni network with jobs at companies such as Google, Lockheed Martin, and General Dynamics (just to name a few). Great for networking!

Leadership

  • Spruce up your resume by assisting with our construction projects, helping out with community service, planning fraternity events, or tutoring other students
  • Reach your full potential by honing skills in time management, public speaking, and interviewing

Construction

  • We participate in Engineering Week every February (Battle Bot competition)
  • Rube Goldberg machine competition
  • Gain woodshop experience
  • We own a 3D printer for personal use!

Community

  • Membership open to engineering/computer science undergrad students
  • Fun events every semester (formal dances, hiking outdoors, ice skating, Bills games, UB games, escape rooms, etc.)
  • Intramural sports (volleyball, basketball, dodgeball, etc.)
  • Lounge in Furnas Hall — great central location on campus to study or relax

Rush begins the first week of the fall semester (August 27th). A full list of events will be emailed during the first week of the school year
