UB Theatre & Dance

We would like to invite ALL UB students* to audition for a role in our upcoming spring season.

*Auditions and casting are open to any UB student carrying at least 3 credit hours. The Department of Theatre and Dance requires that students be in good academic standing to be considered for all production activities. “Good standing” includes, but is not limited to, an overall GPA of 2.0 (and a departmental GPA of 2.5 when applicable).

Auditions are for the productions of

Eurydice

directed by Jon Elston, Black Box Theatre, Opens March 9

Cinderella – Broadway Version

directed by James Beaudry, Drama Theatre, Opens April 27

Initial auditions:

Monday December 5 @ 6 in the Rehearsal Workshop

Tuesday December 6 @ 6 in the Rehearsal Workshop

Callbacks:

Eurydice will be Wednesday December 7 @ 6 in Rehearsal Workshop

Cinderella will be Thursday December 8 @ 6 in the Rehearsal Workshop.

Prepare:

– A one – two minute dramatic monologue

– 16 bar cut of actor’s choosing from a musical written before 1965, please bring clearly marked hard copy in a binder/manila folder for the pianist.

Remember to bring a photo (headshot preferred, but not necessary) and resume (also OK to fill in forms at the audition if you do not have a resume).

To secure a spot you need to sign an auditions reservation sheet for an appointment.  This sign-up sheet will be hung on our production boards in the hallway of the basement of the Center for the Arts – just down the hall from room B52. The Signup sheet will be posted Nov 28 by noon.

R+H’s Cinderella is written to be cast with a range of gender and ethnic diversity. If any performer is interested in a role that is outside of their voice part, they will have an opportunity to explore that in the callback.
