12- Month Graduate Assistant – Outreach Coordinator

Background: 

The Office of Academic Integrity (OAI) was established in 2019 to provide leadership and expertise in developing and promoting UB’s fundamental value of integrity in the academic enterprise. Through educational programming, oversight of adjudication processes and procedures, centralization of record collection, and evolving initiatives, the Office of Academic Integrity promotes and supports a culture of academic integrity in order to reinforce the quality of teaching and learning at UB.

We are seeking a Graduate Assistant to supervise our volunteer Student Integrity Ambassadors, oversee programming efforts, provide administrative support for various office functions, and be an integral member of our small office team.    

Duties vary, but may include:

  1. Process incoming academic dishonesty cases by checking prior records, applying service indicators, building cases in Maxient software system, coordinating hearing board membership, and more.
  2. Recruit, hire, train, and supervise a team of Student Integrity Ambassadors.
  3. Assist with OAI marketing campaigns: plan and attend student outreach events (tabling, study nights, syllabus reading nights, Welcome Weekend), create posters and flyers, manage the OAI UBLinked page, and more.
  4. Develop and present educational materials for classroom presentations, orientation, etc.
  5. Maintain and update website (CMS system) as needed, including posting monthly blogs.
  6. Provide administrative assistance for various activities undertaken by the Office, including answering inquiries in-person or via phone or email, maintaining office records, and reviewing appeals.
  7. Manage student cases through the remediation process, including meeting with students pre and post remediation, grading remediation assignments, and communicating with students regarding their cases.
  8. Assist with implementation of new and evolving initiatives.
  9. Collect and analyze data to generate reports and inform office initiatives.

Qualifications:

  1. Full-time graduate student in good standing for 2023-24; enrolled in at least 9 credits or certified full time. Available 20 hours per week.
  2. An excellent track record showcasing a high level of organization, attention to detail and follow-through as well as an ability to consistently meet stated deadlines.
  3. Experience leading, coordinating, and/or supervising small teams or group projects.
  4. The ability to work independently and take control of projects with little supervision.
  5. Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook.  
  6. Ability to maintain discretion about confidential records.
  7. Strong analytical, graphic design, marketing, and communication (written and oral) skills.
  8. An interest in ethics and the fair application of policy.

General:  

Commitment: This is a 12-month academic year appointment that runs from June 1, 2023

through May 31, 2024. The position schedule will coincide with the university

staff calendar of work days and official holidays.

Salary:             The $26,000 annual salary is paid over 26 pay periods at $1,000 bi-

weekly. There is a tuition stipend for one credit hour each semester.
