LEAD stands for Leadership, Engagement, Advocacy and Development; this conference is designed to bring students from across UB and the surrounding communities together to learn about and engage in topics related to leadership, service, and overall student development.
You can expect engaging and relevant speakers, roundtable discussions, and the discovery of new skills and programs for you to be involved with.

The Baird Point Film Festival provides UB students a platform for expression, empowerment, and creativity to spotlight a social justice issue or experience they have a passion to explore. Offered by Student Engagement, the festival showcases the growth, learning, and diverse experiences that take place outside of the classroom and in the community through service work, critical reflection, and film making.

Student Engagement will be running a campaign to engage students in learning about how to advocate not only against but for something using the themes of Disney Movie “Lemonade Mouth”.
This campaign will run alongside an initiative to treat service workers with kindness, especially our CDS workers who have been deeply impacted by COVID-19.
Students will have an opportunity to write messages to CDS workers as well as pick up a tip sheet on how to be a better advocate. FREE lemonade and food will be provided!

Orientation Leaders have the opportunity to share their unique UB stories with the incoming class and make an impact at the start of their journey by showing new students that they are supported; they can find others who share their identities, goals, and passions; and they matter and belong.
Compensation:
· At least $4,500 paid throughout Summer Orientation and Welcome Weekend. Please note: this is a pre-tax amount.
· Free housing on campus during Summer Orientation
Summer Orientation 2022 will be an in-person program and Orientation Leaders will have responsibilities from June 16-August 5 (OL Training and Summer Orientation) and August 19-August 28 (Welcome Weekend).
