Dear CSE Students,

We are now accepting applications to become an Undergraduate Teaching  Assistant (UTA) in CSE115 and CSE116 for the 2023-24 academic year. The UTA position is a paid hourly position. Each semester of being a UTA, you will also earn 1 credit for CSE495 Supervised Teaching,

As a UTA, your responsibilities may include activities like:

* Teaching labs and recitations;

* Running review sessions;

* Holding office hours;

* Answering questions posted to Piazza;

* Proctoring exams; and

* Attending weekly staff meetings.

Students will be hired into the CSE115/CSE116 UTA pool and may be asked to assist in either course. While UTAs are assigned to 1 course each

term, they may change the course they assist between terms.

There are a few standards to apply. To be eligible for this position, you must be:

* in good academic standing at the University and within department

* complete CSE116 by the start of Fall 2023; and

* plan on enrolling as an undergraduate at UB for the 2023-2024 academic year.

Please note that there is no minimum grade required nor do you have to have a minimum number of credits. For many of the students we hire,

being a CSE115/116 UTA is their first experience as a TA or tutor; past experience is welcome, but not required.

If this sounds fun, interesting, and rewarding, please complete this application form before the April 21th deadline. After reviewing all of  the applications, some candidates will be invited to schedule and give a short demonstration of their teaching for an audience of current instructors and UTAs. Those demonstrations will be held during finals week with offers made in the following week.
