WNY BloodCare Innovation Sprint, September 8th through October 6th, a virtual experience
In a 4-week, virtual Innovation Sprint sponsored by Blackstone LaunchPad at the University at Buffalo in partnership with WNY BloodCare and UB’s Office of Interproffesional Education, students will develop innovative solutions to a WNY BloodCare challenge:
Collaborating in teams, students in a 3-5 member group will develop a proposal to address:
How might WNY BloodCare create a robust “transition to independence” management plan for high school students (Grades 9 – 12) to facilitate these patients’ transition to independent living at college? How might WNY BloodCare assess the effectiveness the transition process?

Innovate in the Cannabis industry with UB’s Blackstone LaunchPad
July 11th through July 28th, a virtual experience

The Cannabis Industry Design Challenge is a virtual 3-week action-learning challenge designed to inspire innovation, exploration, and entrepreneurship in the emerging cannabis industry. Learn how you can be a part of this growing industry.
Our design challenge is an opportunity to learn about the many tracks, legislations, and research during our TED talk style discussions and presentations from industry experts and professionals.
Teams will work with mentors and coaches on creating a final presentation of your product or innovation to win up to $3,000 in prizes. Open to all undergraduate and graduate students from all academic programs.
Hosted in collaboration with the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Center for Integrated Global Biomedical Sciences, UB Libraries, UB Career Design Center, School of Public Health and Health Professions, CanaBuff, and Sativa Remedy.

Use your summer with a purpose – participate in UB’s Launch Summer Accelerator
8-week program that complements any summer job or internship: June 10th through July 29th
Looking to turn your idea or passion into a business? Curious about entrepreneurship and want to join with other students interested in creating their very own venture? Already have a startup or product but are trying to achieve that next step?
UB Blackstone LaunchPad is hosting a Summer Accelerator Program where you can spend eight weeks ideating, creating and competing for up to $5,000 in prizes!
This virtual experience will connect you to LaunchPad national resources, mentorship, industry leaders, workshops and more! Founders will also have access to networking sessions and weekly discussions.
Meet once weekly for 8-weeks from June 10th through July 29th, Fridays from 1-3:00 pm ET over Zoom. A great compliment to any summer job or internship.

The Honors College Peer Mentor Program is designed to help first-year Honors students adjust to life at UB and to the Honors College experience. Our intent is that through this program, our incoming students feel welcome at UB and excited to be a part of the Honors College community.
As an Honors Connections Program Mentor you will be expected to:
In general, we hope that each mentor will help make the transition to college a little easier for our new Honors College Scholars.
If selected, Honors Peer Mentors will be required to submit a short profile of themselves to be shared with their peer mentee, including a photo.

Department Profile
UB’s division of University Communications (UC) is responsible for university-wide communications and marketing — including branding, media relations, digital (web, social media), editorial/content, and creative design — for the University at Buffalo (UB). The division is highly visible, nationally recognized, and its award-winning communication products represent the public face of the university. As a member of UC’s Digital Communications & Strategy team, you will help us transform the way content is created, distributed and tracked on social media, the web, and other digital communication platforms. You will support the department’s efforts to monitor and shape perceptions, fulfill information needs and provide exceptional service to external and internal audiences of UB.
As our Social Media Multimedia Content and Engagement Assistant you will focus on promoting UB by creating multimedia assets with strong visual acuity to amplify and enhance the research, stories and people of UB.
